Program structure
The master program Systems Engineering for Manufacturing is designed as four semester program. It consists of
- mandatory modules (blue in the structure diagram),
- compulsory chosen modules (green in the structure diagram),
- and free elective (brown in the structure diagram) modules.
The first semester of the program is mainly characterised by mandatory lectures containing four mandatory modules and two further modules that can be compulsory chosen and free elective ones. Thus, is mainly addresses topics of general interest in the field of systems engineering for manufacturing.
The second semester is mainly dedicated to enable students to follow their special interests. Therefore, it covers only one mandatory module but 5 compulsory chosen modules and one free elective. Like in the first semester the compulsory chosen modules have to be selected from five scientific fields covering Mechanics, Digital systems, Planning and Control, Logistics, and Manufacturing technology. Students have to select two modules in three areas of their choice. The free elective modules can be chosen more or less free from the available engineering lectures of the technical faculties of our university.
The semesters three and four are used to train students within scientific working within an internship, an elearning module and finally the master thesis.
A detailed description of all available lectures can be found in the module handbook to the master program.
