Design, use, and end-of-life of products and production systems have a significant impact on our society and our nature. Social and natural sciences steadily increase our knowledge and the resulting challenges. But how will we use this knowledge.

Systems engineering can consider this socio-technical systems as systems of systems in a way designing their structure and behaviour supporting counteractive measure for climate crisis and overutilization of natural resources as well as improving required product customization and digitalization.
